Ask who does the design
Find out who designs the architecture and whether that person will stay involved through implementation. You want a provider who can explain current state, target state, migration steps, outage windows, rollback, and documentation.
Ask who owns the cutover
Network changes can affect the whole business. Ask who owns change control, testing, after-hours work, user impact, vendor escalation, and rollback if the cutover fails. A quote without a cutover plan is incomplete.
Ask what support looks like after install
Implementation is only the first part. Ask whether the reseller provides monitoring, firmware planning, rule reviews, configuration backups, documentation updates, help desk escalation, and emergency support. If they do not, decide who will operate the system.
Ask for proof of similar environments
The best fit is not always the biggest partner. Ask for experience with environments like yours: multi-site, regulated, manufacturing, healthcare, finance, school, retail, hybrid cloud, remote workforce, or lean IT team.
